Book Review : A Shade of Vampire (A Shade of Vampire #1)

Kindle Edition
Published December 14th 2012
By Bella Forrest

Goodreads Synopsis
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.
A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.
Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

Wow what a book. Forgive me a moment while I gather my thoughts.

Let me first start off saying that I am not a professional reviewer, I don't do reviews on a regular basis. But with that said I was approach to do an honest review by the author.

I received my copy of the book some time ago as a free read through kindle.

Now on to the review. I started the book a few hours ago and just now finished it. For me to read a book in one sitting speaks volumes on how captivating the story was. I kept turning the electronic pages needing, wanting to know what was going to happen next.

The story of Sofia and Derek in Blood Shade spins a new tale of the vampire and human dynamic. Can they overcome their difference's? Can they protected each other from those who would do them harm? Will love prevail? In my opinion that is a resounding yes, but it won't be easy.

I would totally recommend this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I give the book 5 out of 5 stars.
