Santa's Sleigh Is on Its Way to Newfoundland: A Christmas Adventure

Hardcover32 pages
Published October 1st 2016 by Sourcebooks Jabberwocky

you know I just had to buy this book with Newfoundland in the title, it is after all where I live lol .

It was a cute little story, more geared to children, but I like it all the same.

Love the mention of specific towns in Newfoundland. Might of liked it a bit more if it had more mentions of things only found in Newfoundland other then Bowering Park, like mummers, Signal hill and such. Think it wouldn't added a bit more to the story. Make it feel like the writer had actually visited or did his homework in writing the story.

I would give the book 4 out of 5 stars.

Santa Is Coming to Newfoundland

with Newfoundland in the title what could go wrong, nothing, lol.

Not much of a story really other then his trip to Newfoundland and the various places he had to visit dropping off gifts.

I would give the book 3 out of 5 stars.

The Spooky Express Newfoundland

Published August 1st 2017

I picked this one up with out hesitation. The combination of Halloween and my province Newfoundland was enough for me to buy the book. I wasn't disappointed.

It is a children's book, at least geared for children but as an adult I enjoyed it all the same. Loved seeing the mention of my city and other city's throughout the book. Some of the rhyming at times seemed a bit off, meaning not really flowing smoothly but that can be overlooked. The illustrations are spot on, very detailed and eye catching.

Looking forward to buying another book from this author, having to do with Newfoundland and Christmas. I recommend looking to see if he wrote a book for your city or state for Halloween or Christmas.

I would give the book 3 out of 5 stars.

The Mystery of Nevermore (Snow & Winter #1)

ebook216 pages
Published August 30th 2016 by DSP Publications

Went looking for this book after stumbling across and reading 2 short stories from the author about Sebastian and Calvin. I know cart before the horse lol but I don't care. I loved the story and the characters from the very beginning. I did managed to figure out who the killer was but no idea on the why, which is eventually explained.

The mystery and the characters are interesting enough to move the story along. Would of loved a bit more detail in some places and flesh out the characters a bit more but since there is more books to come, 3 more from the info I seen, there is plenty of time for that.

I am not one to pay much mind to reviews or read them when I am drawn to the story by just reading the blurb. I can see after reading a few of the less favorable reviews why they say fault in the story. But for me when I am reading something I read for the enjoyment that the story brings and not to pick things apart. Of course each to there own and there is no right or wrong way to read a book.

I would give the book 4 out of 5 stars.

Road to Riverdale (Road to Riverdale)

Paperback144 pages
Published January 31st 2017 by Archie Comics

chapter 1 - Archie #1 nice intro to our beloved character Archie Andrews. one part made me feel as if I walked in half way through a key plot point that made me feel lost. Other than that great read.

Chapter 2 - Jughead #1 who doesn't love Jughead and his preoccupation with burgers lol. the video game sequence and the dream could of done without but a great intro all the same.

Chapter 3 - Betty and Veronica #1 could of done out with the narration by Jugheads dog, and it ended on a cliffhanger. Plus no real amount of info on either of the girls.

Chapter 4 - Josie and the pussycats #1 Not really a fan but it was nice to see how the three of them got together.

Chapter 5 - Reggie and Me #1 what can I say every school has to have a bully or in this case a villain, lol.

I would give the comic 3 out of 5 stars

Boss Me, FANG: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (Monster Haven)

Kindle Edition116 pages
Published April 5th 2017 by Pearson Publishing

What can I say without giving to much away. hmmm

Loved the interaction between Veronica and Keeland. There was a story but it was second to the two main characters. Story was told from alternating points of view of Veronica and Keeland which I liked. Loved the idea surrounding of an island where all supernatural beings can live freely without limitations. Would of loved for the story to have been longer all the same.

Will definitely check out any other stories in the series.

I would give the book 4 out of 5 stars.

Driving Mr. Dead (Half-Moon Hollow #1.5)

Kindle Edition180 pages
Published January 31st 2012 by Pocket Star (first published December 27th 2011)

Found on kindle, I paid 2.57 for it, and it wasn't a waste of money.

Miranda is everything I wish I was aside from all her bad luck. Seems like trouble follows her but she is more then capable of handling anything that comes her way. She is a no nonsense women that will speak her mind and take on anyone, human and immortal alike. She is fearless when it comes to most things. She just so happens to be a chauffeur for vampires but one vampire in particular will test all her skills just to get the job done.

Miranda and Collins interaction is everything you would want in more. You know where it is going but the ride getting there is the best part.

Would love to read more about these two.

I would give the book 4 out of 5 stars.
